The United States Marine Corps has placed an order with Israeli company Roboteam for hundreds of Micro Tactical Ground Robot (MTGR) systems. These robots are designed for missions like explosive ordnance disposal and special operations.
These lightweight, portable robots can be operated remotely. The fourth-edition robots have better communication links and updated cameras. Plus, their control unit can handle multiple robots at once.
The initial order includes over 130 robots, with around 200 systems to be delivered by early 2025. The price tag for this order? A whopping $30 million.
